NNWN x Gunderson Pitcher Program Overview
Dates:
October 1st - February 25th (leading up to the start of the High School baseball season)
No Classes: November 27th, December 25th, and January 1st
Weekly Sessions:
Group #1: Wednesday, 5:00-6:00 PM
Group #2: Wednesday, 6:00-7:00 PM
Group #3: Wednesday, 7:00-8:00 PM
Group #4: Wednesday, 8:00-9:00 PM

Program Features:
Small Group Sizes: Ensuring athletes receive individual attention for their development.
Integration with NWN Catchers Program: Pitchers will have the opportunity to throw to catchers throughout the program for game-like practice.
Coaching by Kevin Gunderson: A former Oregon State pitcher, professional player, and owner of Gunderson Baseball, bringing high-level expertise to the program.
Progressive Development:
Phase 1 (October - November): Focus on building strength, flexibility, and conditioning. This phase will emphasize proper warm-up routines, mobility work, and addressing any mechanical flaws. Pitchers will begin developing their individual routines to help maintain a strong, healthy arm.
Phase 2 (December - January): Pitchers will focus on refining their mechanics, increasing velocity, and improving pitch control. This phase will include light bullpen sessions, pitch sequencing, and working through various pitch types (e.g., fastballs, breaking balls). Catchers from the NWN Catchers Program will be integrated into the NWN x Gunderson Pitching Program to provide athletes with real catchers and not stationary targets.
Phase 3 (February - Pre-Season): The final phase will shift towards preparing for in-game performance. This includes live pitching to catchers, focusing on pitch command, hitting spots, and game preparation strategies. Athletes will also work on maintaining arm health and recovery routines as they gear up for the high school season.
