Mental Performance Program
Braden Bishop
The Northwest Nationals Training Facility, in partnership with Fortis Performance and Braden Bishop, provides athletes with comprehensive mental performance training designed to develop the mindset, habits, and skills needed to perform at their best.
A standout at the University of Washington and former Major League outfielder with the Seattle Mariners, Braden brings firsthand experience competing at the highest levels of baseball. His training helps athletes understand that mental performance, like physical performance, is a skill that can be developed through intentional practice.
Athletes will work on confidence, focus, resilience, emotional regulation, competitive routines, leadership, communication, and responding to adversity. Each session provides practical strategies athletes can apply immediately to practices, games, high-pressure situations, and everyday challenges.
The goal is to help athletes become more self-aware, prepared, and consistent competitors, learning how to stay present, respond to failure, control what they can control, and compete with confidence when the pressure is highest. Over time, athletes will build a personalized mental performance toolbox they can rely on throughout their development and beyond the game.
Fortis Performance helps athletes strengthen the mental side of competition through intentional, practical mental performance training. Their approach gives athletes tools to better understand themselves, manage pressure, build confidence, respond to adversity, and develop habits that support consistent performance both on and off the field.
Mental performance training is an important part of the Northwest Nationals commitment to developing the complete athlete, combining physical development, baseball skills, preparation, recovery, leadership, and mental performance.
