Fielding LESSONS
Fielding Lessons
At Northwest Nationals Training Facility, our fielding lessons are designed to help athletes develop confidence, consistency, and high-level defensive skills on the field. These lessons are designed for athletes who are ready to transition to the next phase of development after completing the Northwest Nationals Ground Ball Class. Our experienced instructors focus on proper defensive mechanics, footwork, glove work, body control, throwing accuracy, reaction time, and overall baseball IQ to help players become more complete defenders.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual athlete and position, allowing players to receive personalized instruction that translates directly into game performance. Whether an athlete is working on infield fundamentals, outfield reads and routes, or overall defensive development, our goal is to create a challenging and positive training environment that promotes growth and confidence.
To maximize player development and ensure quality instruction, fielding lessons are limited to no more than two athletes per session. This small-group setting provides individualized coaching, increased repetitions, and focused attention to help athletes make meaningful improvements.
Players will train using advanced drills, game-like situations, and video analysis to improve reaction time, first-step quickness, glove presentation, transfer efficiency, throwing mechanics, and defensive awareness. Lessons may also incorporate advanced technology and training equipment to provide real-time feedback and accelerate development.
Training equipment utilized during lessons may include:
Training Gloves
Reaction Balls
Flat Gloves
Short Hop Training Balls
Video Analysis Equipment
